4th of July, also known as Independence Day falls on a Saturday this year which for many of you means a 3 day weekend as employers typically give the Friday before or Monday after off as a paid holiday.  So even though the holiday marks the anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, this year it means independence from a full work week.

If you plan to stay in town for the long weekend, here are some great options near your North Hollywood apartment.

The Rose Bowl – check out Americafest for everything red, white and blue.  Enjoy great food offered by vendors or better yet tailgate in the parking lot for a unique way to celebrate 4th of July.  The festival includes vendors, activities, a motorcycle stunt show and then breathtaking fireworks.

Those on a budget will find that Grand Park is a great way to celebrate the 4th of July.  Grand Park hosts a block party with food truck fare, live music and more.  Pack a picnic, bring your four legged friends and enjoy the day.  If you are taking public transit Pershing Square will be your closets stop as Metro Station will be closed on the 4th.

Pacific Palisades has a day filled with fun activities including a parade and their annual fireworks pageant at Stadium by the Sea.  Voted as the areas best fireworks, it is worth the drive and crowds.
