North Hollywood Halloween: How To Keep Your Pumpkin Fresh

  |     |   Uncategorized

Keeping your pumpkin fresh is one of the most important parts of carving a good Jack-O-Lantern. If you don’t protect it, your pumpkin will shrivel up and mold in a few days. Here are a few simple tips for keeping it fresh.

WD-40: Wd-40 isn’t just for cars. Once you are done carving, spray every exposed edge of your pumpkin. Doing so will help lock in moisture and keep it alive longer. Just remember your pumpkin will be flammable.

Water: submerge your pumpkin in water overnight to allow it to regain some of the moisture it lost. This will added a few days to your pumpkin’s life.

Vaseline: cover any exposed edge with Vaseline, including the inside of the pumpkin. Again, this helps lock in moisture and keeps the pumpkin fresh.
