West Hollywood Living: Exercising at Work

  |     |   Uncategorized

Millions of people sit in an office all day and do very little exercise over the course of eight hours. While that sounds perfectly normal, sitting for prolonged periods of time has been proven to be a determent to people's health. Not moving all day leads to a slow metabolism, poor blood circulation and increased weight. For those that work in an office, here are a few ways to exercise and get moving throughout the day.

Park far away: I know we’re all conditioned to park as close to a building as possible. But you are going to break that habit by parking a block away, so you can get your legs moving in the morning and evening after work.

Walk around the block: Make an effort to walk around the block near your office. Arrive to work 10 minutes early and take a walk. Try taking another walk at the end of the day before you leave work, and try using your 10 minute break for another walk. You might be able to get a couple of miles in.

Stairs: If you are lucky enough to work on the second or third story of a building, resolve to always skip the elevator and take the stairs instead. That little change can lead to large weight loss and get you in shape.
