How to Get Your Security Deposit Back

So you are doing it again, moving! Despite the excitement of moving in to a new place, we all dread the work that goes along with moving.

Here is a check list of things to do before moving out of your North Hollywood apartment.

Remove any nails, screws of shelving from the walls and ceiling and putty them smoothly with a matching color.

Dust light fixtures, ledges and baseboards.

Clean the windows and sashes.

Clean the door knobs and wipe down doors.

Vacuum and get stains out of the carpet. You may want to get them professionally cleaned, but if you do keep the receipt.

Get rid of soap scum and/or mold from bathroom tiles and the tub/shower.

Clean out bathroom drawers, medicine cabinet, and vanity. Remove any shelf liners and vacuum out hair.

Clean the toilet, sink, and countertops and sweep and mop the floors.
Clean the mirror and wipe down faucets.

Clean out cabinets, shelves, and liners.

Wipe down the fronts of cabinets, light fixtures, and handles.

Clean the refrigerator inside and out. Don’t forget the kick plate.

Wipe down, sanitize the counter tops, and clean the oven inside and out.

Dust, sweep and vacuum the rooms when they are empty.

Remove everything from the balconies and sweep.

Once you have completed the cleaning and arranged a walk through, leave the keys, wave goodbye and head on out to your new apartment.
